Find Your People: How B Locals Brought B Corp Month to Life
March 30, 2026
Every March, B Corp Month shows us what’s possible when business is done differently. It’s a moment to celebrate progress. But more importantly, it’s a reminder that no one builds impact alone.
Behind the scenes of the global movement led by B Lab, there’s a powerful, often under-the-radar force driving connection at the local level: B Locals.
These regional communities are where relationships are built, ideas are tested, and collaboration actually happens. During B Corp Month, B Locals show up in full force by hosting events that bring purpose-driven businesses together in ways that feel human, energizing, and deeply needed.
Here’s a look at how B Locals across the U.S. are creating space for connection during B Corp month and why it might be time for you to find your way in.
Celebrating Impact (With a Side of Craft Beer)

Vermont B Corp Collective members celebrate B Corp Month at The Alchemist Brewery in Stowe, Vermont.
In Stowe, Vermont, the Vermont B Corp Collective gathered the community at The Alchemist Brewery for a B Corp Month celebration that felt equal parts meaningful and relaxed.
The setting mattered: a local brewery known for its craft and culture created the perfect backdrop for connection, reminding attendees that impact doesn’t have to feel formal or forced. Sometimes, it looks like a conversation over a drink with someone who just gets it.

Washington B Corp Collective members enjoy a B Social event at Aslan Brewing Co. in Seattle.
Across the country in Seattle, the Washington B Corp Collective hosted a “B Social” at Aslan Brewing Co. Supported by purpose-driven partners like Beneficial State Bank, Jula Bloom, and Earth Swag, the event blended networking with community-building in a way that felt natural, not transactional.
The takeaway? Sometimes the most powerful connections happen when the pressure is off.
Conversations That Move the Work Forward

For those craving deeper dialogue, B Locals are also creating space for meaningful, future-focused conversations.
In New York City, B Local NYC hosted “B Corps: Leading the Way for Social Impact” at NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, bringing together leaders shaping what business can (and should) look like.
The panel featured voices like Sarah Schwimmer of B Lab Global, David Bolotsky of Uncommon Goods, and Daphany Rose Sanchez of Kinetic Communities Consulting.
These weren’t surface-level conversations; they explored what it actually takes to lead with impact, offering insight, honesty, and a shared sense that the future of business is still being written.
Learning Together, Growing Together

B Local San Diego members participate in a workshop on the B Lab Standards V2 while enjoying happy hour beverages provided by B Corps.
B Corp Month isn’t just about celebrating; it’s also about evolving. And B Locals are making sure there’s space for that, too!
In San Diego, B Local San Diego brought the community together for a hybrid event: part happy hour, part New Standards workshop. With support from brands like Boochcraft and Drab to Fab, the evening blended learning with connection, helping attendees better understand evolving B Lab Standards while strengthening relationships in the room.

B Local Mid-Atlantic enjoying social time and libations at Metrobar in Washington D.C.
Meanwhile, in Washington, DC, B Local Mid-Atlantic also hosted a B Corp Month happy hour at Metrobar—a venue inspired by the city’s transit system, complete with a retired rail car. The setting created a unique backdrop for sustainability professionals to connect, exchange ideas, and build relationships. The vibe? Relaxed, welcoming, and full of possibility.
Rethinking Networking Through Generosity

B Local Philadelphia members and friends attend the Generosity Marketplace at the Aramark Building in Center City.
In Philadelphia, B Local Philadelphia took a different approach. Their event, “Let’s Be Social: A Community Exchange for Purpose-Driven Businesses,” wasn’t built around pitches or panels. Instead, it centered on a generosity marketplace, where attendees shared what they needed and what they could offer.
Hosted by Perpay at the Aramark building in Center City, the gathering drew around 30 participants and created a different kind of energy—an energy rooted in mutual support over self-promotion.
It’s a simple shift, but a powerful one: what if networking looked more like community care?
A Block Party to Remember

B Local Bay Area members and friends attended a B Corp Block Party held across three stores in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco.
B Corp Month in the Bay Area hit a high note with a B Corp Block Party in Hayes Valley hosted by B Local Bay Area. This event drew the highest RSVP turnout for any Bay Area B Local gathering, proving that the local community doesn’t miss a chance to celebrate impact.
Purpose-driven retailers like Marine Layer, Peak Design, and Faherty opened their doors to share their B Corp journeys, offer exclusive discounts, and keep refreshments flowing on a warm evening. Attendees strolled between stores, discovered new brands, and introduced newcomers to the B Corp movement, all while celebrating the idea that business can truly work as part of a movement to benefit people and planet.
Connections, But Make It Fun

B Local LA throws a B Market in Westwood Village for members, neighbors, and others to enjoy.
Out in Los Angeles, B Local Los Angeles kicked off B Corp Month with something entirely new: the first-ever B Market in Los Angeles County. Held in Westwood Village, the event brought together more than 20 purpose-driven businesses, from sustainable beauty to socially responsible home goods, for a day of connection, discovery, and celebration.
With live music, games, and a steady flow of community members, the event blurred the line between marketplace and movement. A standout moment? A collaborative drink from Groundwork Coffee and Optimist Drinks—a small but symbolic example of what’s possible when values-aligned brands come together.

Members of B Local BC test the limits of their friendship with a series of heated arcade match-ups.
In British Columbia, B Local BC hosted a night at the arcade, giving local B Corp employees a chance to show off their skills, challenge teammates, and, most importantly, connect.
So, Where Do You Fit In?
If there’s a common thread across all of these events, it’s that B Locals are building spaces where business feels more human. Whether it’s a panel in New York, a brewery meetup in Vermont, or a street market in Los Angeles, these gatherings are proof that the B Corp movement isn’t just a certification, it’s a community. And there’s likely one near you.
