What You Can Expect From Season 1 of the Get Down to Business Podcast

At B Lab U.S. & Canada, we have always believed in the power of storytelling to spark change. That’s why we’re excited to launch our new podcast, Get Down to Business, a series that brings listeners inside the journeys of Certified B Corp businesses that are paving the way and redefining what it means to do business for good.

This podcast was developed from a desire to dig deeper into the motivations, challenges, and values that drive businesses to become and remain Certified B Corps. There’s no secret code or single way to become a B Corp and ‘get it right’ in business, but there are plenty of ways to get started, and that’s what this season is all about.

Hosted by Lauren Everett, this first season takes place in Philadelphia, with each episode featuring candid conversations with business leaders and B Labbers who are rethinking what’s possible across industries, from brewing beer and fashion to architecture and clean energy. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all path, these stories spotlight the many ways local businesses in Philadelphia are navigating the certification process, building impact into their operations, and maintaining the standards to use business as a force for good. 

Season 1 – What to Expect

Season 1 explores the heart of the B Corp Certification process, not just how it works, but the real-life impact it makes for businesses, their customers and clients. Listeners will hear from companies across the city of Philadelphia who have taken the steps to certify and recertify, with episodes focusing on themes like:

• Where the B Corp movement has been, where we are and where we’re headed
• What has changed for local businesses after their B Corp Certification
• What it really means to become a Certified B Corporation and how to get started
• How the B Corp community supports and challenges businesses to keep evolving
• How certification can reshape workplace culture, hiring practices, and team wellbeing

We’ve created this series to be informative, accessible, and honest, sharing the real wins and real tensions of doing business differently. Whether you’re a curious consumer, a B Corp champion, or a business owner exploring certification, Get Down to Business is for you.
