Impact Topic in Practice Guide: Climate Action

“In order to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, global emissions must be cut to 45% below 2010 levels by 2030, and the world would need to achieve net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. The Climate Action Impact Topic helps companies take action in accordance with science to combat the climate crisis and its impacts”

Guide

B Lab released new standards for B Corp Certification in April 2025. Within these standards, there are seven Impact Topics used to measure a company’s positive impact and, through recertification, continuous impact improvement. These guides, created by B Lab U.S. & Canada, provide examples and resources sourced from existing B Corps and partners, to support companies in meeting the new B Corp Certification standards and better understanding what it means to use business as a force for good in 2025 and beyond.

The goal of the Climate Action Impact Topic is for B Corps and other companies to take action in accordance with science to combat the climate crisis and its impacts.
