Cream City Conservation

Cream City Conservation (C4) is a two-prong social enterprise that helps environmental organizations attract diverse candidate pools and institute strategies that help them retain top talent, making their workforce stronger, smarter, and their programs more sustainable and relevant. Simultaneously, C4 cultivates the next generation of environmentalists by introducing and training traditionally underrepresented teens and young adults for various ecological careers. This year, through continued partnership with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) and Milwaukee County Parks, C4 is helping to expand MMSD’s Fresh Coast Guardian brand through the pilot Fresh Coast Fresh Start program. Designed to support chronically under-employed and returning citizens alike, the paid training program prepares individuals for careers in the water and green infrastructure sector while also supporting underfunded green infrastructure maintenance on public lands.
