Who Can Certify?

Who Can Certify?

A company must be a for-profit business and have been in operation for at least 12 months to be eligible for B Corp Certification. Your business needs to walk, talk and look like a business that controls its impact across its stakeholders and operations in order to be eligible to certify and maintain your B Corp Certification.

As a company-level certification intending to capture the impacts of a business’ operations in a comprehensive manner, B Corp Certification does not apply to brands or divisions of a business, but rather to independently operating businesses or Complete and Distinct subsidiaries. While for-profit companies of all shapes and sizes can certify as B Corps, the path to get there varies. The B Impact Platform will help you determine your company’s eligibility and specific certification requirements by completing the assessment setup. This step-by-step guide walks through what you can expect during setup.
