Healing Spaces
Investing in the well-being of both people and the planet is paramount to creating a more equitable economic system for all.
Striving to create a more equitable economic system for all means investing in the well-being of both people and the planet. As the B Corp community works to address major global issues while cultivating regenerative business practices, the conversation around health, wellness, and restoration in business has never been more relevant.
Individuals are increasingly experiencing burnout and high stress, looking to break free from professional stagnation through better work-life balance or environments that foster positive mental health. A Gallup survey conducted in 2021 found that around 48% of employees in the United States were experiencing burnout to some degree during the pandemic.
Additionally, a report by the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that depression and anxiety disorders alone cost the global economy approximately $1 trillion per year in lost productivity.
While B Corps and purpose-driven businesses have a strong focus on taking care of workers, they’re not immune to these issues. As we gather at Champions Retreat in the spirit of collaboration and innovation, we recognize the need for a recalibration of priorities within the realm of business. Wellness is no longer solely an individual goal – it’s a critical issue affecting businesses and industry of all kinds, pointing to a need to prioritize restoration and collective care as a means of advancing the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit.
In acknowledging these realities, the 2024 Champions Retreat theme of Restore is purpose-driven and intentionally designed for this moment. Pivoting on the ethos of healing and fostering an environment where both individuals and organizations can thrive, our goal is to support businesses while they aim to fulfill their role as agents of positive change. Our carefully curated Healing Spaces, created in partnership with Mondetta, and intentional Integration Sessions are designed to recalibrate priorities while offering a space to process and reconnect. You’ll leave understanding how to incorporate these key learnings into business practices – and ensure they stick.
The 2024 Retreat helped us explore how to achieve equity through revolutionizing rest or how to create internal alignment for change. We invited attendees to dig deeper this year and discover how to approach mindfulness in business, and how to awaken your human needs as an impact professional. We learned how to prioritize rest, mindfulness and self-care can be a radical step towards making sustainable change in a more equitable world.
